For the safe storage of your bicycle / mountain bike, we put the garage at your disposal free of charge. The house is located in Municipality of Velden am Wörthersee. The region is ideal for relaxing on or in the water of the many lakes it has to offer, not only Lake Wörthersee, but also Lake Ossiach, Faakersee, Keutschachersee, Fortsee, Rauschelesee, Langsee. Furthermore, there are tour boats, speedboats, pedal boats, sailing boats etc for rent to enjoy all facets. For cyclists many signposted cycling routes (brochures available from us free of charge). But also for hikers (there are free brochures with walking routes available) there is plenty to do: around the water, in the woods and the mountains. Such as: the Tscheppaschlucht in Ferlach, where there is also a waldseilpark. With the gondola into the mountains and breathlessly enjoy the distant views, for the daredevils among us you can take a duo jump from the Gerlitzen. If you prefer to drive an Almstrasse by car, you can choose from the Dobriach at Villach, Nockalmstrasse, Gerlitzen alpenstrasse, Wurzelpas or Loiblpas, all with many S-bends and breathtaking viewpoints. In winter, the Gerlitzen is the place to enjoy your ski holiday. The gondola with ample free parking space can be found at a 20 car minutes from our house. Velden am Wörthersee is more than worth a visit, just think of one of the many activities that are organized every year in fields themselves or in the surrounding area. For example: The White party, GTI meeting, in the ascension weekend, the GTI meeting 2.0 and since 2019 also a Winter meeting in January. Furthermore Sports car, Vespa, Bentley, Harlley Davidson – meet. Christmas market and Easter market, the casino, Street food festival and on New Year's Eve a giant, free fireworks display and the Viennese waltz, in front of the beautiful Schloßhotel on the water to ring in the New Year. Etc, etc, etc..... There are also various possibilities for winter sports enthusiasts, skiing is possible on the Gertlitzen Alpe, Katschberg, Turracher Höhe, Simonhöhe, Hochrindel, Dreiländereck, Goldeck (Spittal), Bodental, Bad klein kirchheim, Heidi ́s Schneealm Falkert. This can be skied with the Kärnten Ski Pass. Cross-country skiing is also possible in the region, with sufficient snow in Keutschach, Schiefling, Gerlitzen Alpe, Dreiländereck, Turracher Höhe, Bad kleinkircheim, Villacher alpen Arena. Various snowshoe hikes are also possible, in the winter program of the tourist office there are div, guided winter hikes on the Gerlitzen Alpe, Naturpark Dobratsch. Velden has an artificial skating rink at its disposal. If it is cold enough you can skate on the Augsdorfersee (5 min. Hiking) Keutschachersee and Rauschelesee. Sledging is possible on div. Places, e.g. on Dreiländereck, Gerlitzen, Keutschach, Katschberg,Wolfsberg. In summer you can go toboggan on katsberg and at Ossiachersee, Moosburg, Nocky Flitzer on the Turacherhöhe, Zirkitzen, Wolfsberg. Tubing can be done in the summer at Gerlitzen and at Goldeck. Therme can be found in Villach, Badkleinkircheim, Spittal. The region has div. Forest ropes course : at Pyramidenkogel, Gerlitzen, Bodental, etc. Everything is there for your well-deserved holiday! Around the Christmas period it is worthwhile to visit the Christmas markets of Velden, Portschach and the Pyramidenkogel.
